This was a wonderful weekend and a big thank you goes to Eric Pritchard (even though he is from south of the Humber) for the use of his land, his hard work, and his enthusiasm for the event, and to Steve and Joan Tucker for all of the effort that went into the organisation. For the first year it was a good turnout and everybody really enjoyed themselves. There was dinner on Saturday evening with two guest speakers, Helmut Clasen and Gerry Marshall , who were both very entertaining. The weather behaved itself, more or less, and the sections for both trials were really nice. Saturday was very English with sections using the river banks and some nadgery in the trees, and a long section right up the riverbed in amongst the rocks. Speaking of rocks, Sunday's sections had rocks, and rocks, and rocks, and some more rocks. I dropped more points on the first loop than I did all day Saturday.
The Hare Scrambles were run on two different courses, which I am sure made it much more interesting for the riders. I still think that they are mad racing between trees but it takes all sorts I suppose. There was a good selection of bikes competing but, biased though I am, none sounded as nice as Steve's BSA
My apologies for not having any names on the pictures, but I need to meet someone at least five times before their name sticks.
Make sure YOU go next year!!
